Expanding College Access:  New Resources for Our High School Students

Dear SRCS High School Families,

We are pleased to announce two partnerships designed to help our families and students explore, plan for and access higher education. By connecting our schools and families directly with California’s higher education systems, these programs will create clearer, more streamlined pathways for students after graduation.



CaliforniaColleges.edu is the state’s official college and career planning platform. Students can discover their interests, explore careers and potential majors and monitor their A-G course progress. The platform will contain students’ transcripts and serve as a centralized hub for launching applications to California Community Colleges, the California State University (CSU) system and the University of California (UC) system, as well as managing financial aid through the FAFSA or California Dream Act applications. 

We plan to have high school staff review this platform with our students. Furthermore, we encourage every student to begin using these tools early and refer back to them throughout high school as they develop their college and career plans. Learn more at CaliforniaColleges.edu and explore the Plan Your Path overview.



SRCS has entered into a formal partnership with the California State University (CSU) system to simplify the transition to college. This new program proactively identifies eligible seniors and connects them with admission opportunities at participating CSU campuses. Learn more.

Based on academic records, the District will identify students for one of three pathways:

• Direct Admissions: Students on track to meet A-G requirements will receive notifications regarding direct admission opportunities at participating CSU campuses.
• Supported Eligibility: Students close to meeting requirements will receive guidance on the specific steps needed to complete their eligibility in partnership with their school counselor.
• Transfer Success Pathway: Students not expected to meet CSU eligibility by graduation will be introduced to a supported route through community college that leads to a guaranteed CSU transfer.

Application still required. A Direct Admission notification is an important opportunity, but students must still complete and submit a Cal State Apply application to receive an official admission decision from their chosen campus. Not all CSU campuses or high-demand majors participate in this program.


Data sharing and privacy: To facilitate these opportunities, the District shares limited data (such as transcripts to CaliforniaColleges for all high school students and contact information and eligibility status with CSU for seniors), unless they have opted out. This information is used solely to provide support for the admission experience and tailor financial aid and support services.

If you do not wish for your student’s information to be shared, complete this opt-out form by Aug. 27. If we do not hear from you by this date, your student’s data may be included in the eligibility review for these programs.
